BUT THERE ARE ALSO THOSE WHO HAVE THE LUXURY OF HAVING POLICY OBJECTS IN ITS WARS: LET US SAY; BRINGING SYMMETRY TO A REGION FOR EXAMPLE: BUT THE SITUATION RARELY ARISES FOR THESE PEOPLE WHERE THEIR EXISTENCE AS A PEOPLE IS AT STAKE OR EVEN WORSE; THEIR VERY ASSES ARE ON THE LINE:

Now that is all well and fine, but we need a specific example of this. ok. I am a swiss citizen. switzerland has a very large army, an impressive air force and not much of a naval presence. Switzerland is the worlds most famous neutral country that there is. Its last big war for glory was fought in Italy five hundred plus years ago and the swiss got beat on one of the days of the two day battle. so the swiss went home and said, no more of these sorts of wars. and so, switzerland had no more such wars. it has been invaded once in between, napoleon did this but other than that, switzerland stayed locked in its fortress of the alps.
Switzerlands basic policy is, well we are neutral only to the extent our ass is not on the line. this is what the swiss call armed neutrality. this makes switzerland one of the most miltaristic country that there is. everyone is a soldier, at least all of the men. and all must serve at some points of their lives and each year all the men have to pass a shooting exam where there is actually shooting. yet, when swiss soldiers go outside of their country to serve, like they do in kosovo, they have to go withour arms. odd you say. yes many say because the swiss have to hire the austrians to guard them while they do their work in bosnia etc. the debate going on right now is that many in switzerland want to join luxury organizations like NATO and europe and participate with their so called partners in wars of policy. most swiss will have none of it and try their best to preserve their armies because the swiss have a lot of golden asses to protect.
